Charles C. Burleigh, Jr. (1848-1882)

Cosmian Hall was dedicated in 1874 by the Free Congregational Society of Florence as a building for its Sunday services, Sunday School and social gatherings as well as for general public meetings for the village of Florence. Charles C. Burleigh, Jr. painted frescoes in the interior of the building. His father, Charles C. Burleigh, Sr. was the first resident speaker of the Free Congregational Society from 1863-1873.
